버추얼박스는 맥의 경우 인텔 cpu(x86_64)에서만 동작합니다. 애플 실리콘(m1, m2, ..)은 사용 불가능합니다
혹시 나중에 지원 예정인가? 오라클 규정때문에 알려줄 수가 없다고 합니다. 향후 몇년 안에는 안될 듯..
해결방법으로는 parallels를 쓰거나, vmware를 쓰라고 하네요. 둘 다 유료입니다.
아니면 qemu같은 에뮬레이터를 쓰는 방법이 있겠습니다.

또는 docker를 사용할 수도 있겠는데요, vagrant와 연결도 무리없고요
문제라고 하면 도커 한 컨테이너에 여러 서비스를 돌리는건 bad design으로 여겨지기도 하고, initd가 부실한 문제가 있다는군요. 어쨌거나 지금으로선 도커를 사용하는 방식이 베스트일 것 같습니다
+ 도커 centos 이미지를 이용해 테스트해봤는데요, 안되는 것 같습니다 ㅜㅡ
minikube를 써봐야겠습니다
